Kumarakom Nest is a small retreat on the edge of the backwaters. Our spaces open to the lake, our kitchen cooks with ingredients from nearby farms, and our hosts know every canal worth taking.
Come for a weekend or a week. Spend it on the veranda, on a canoe, or on a houseboat drifting toward sunset.

Our kitchen buys fish from the morning catch and vegetables from farms along the lake. Meals are served on the veranda, on the lawn or on a banana leaf at your table.

We woke up to birds and mist on the lake. The staff arranged a canoe ride for us at dawn and it was the best part of our trip.
The fish curry alone was worth the journey. The cottages were clean, quiet and right on the water. We stayed three nights and wanted more.
An honest, calm place. No rush, no crowds. The sunset cruise was small and unhurried, just us and the boatman.
