Kumarakom Nest is a calm retreat set in a green compound in Kumarakom. The main house has a sloping red tiled roof, exposed brick walls and wide white-pillared verandas, the way Kerala houses have been built for generations.

Wide stone paths lead across open lawns and under tall coconut and areca palms. Everything here is made for slowing down.
